What is “Schengen”?
The Schengen Agreement is an agreement among European states which allows for common immigration policies (including the Schengen visa). With a Schengen visa, you may enter one country and travel freely throughout the Schengen zone. Internal border controls have disappeared; there are no or few stops and checks. The 15 Schengen countries are Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden plus Norway, Iceland and Switzerland. All these countries except Norway and Iceland are European Union members.
There is no official luggage storage in CDG. For storage durations above 6 hours, baggage storage can be provided by “Bagages du Monde”, with service desks in CDG 1, CDG 2A (landside), and CDG 2F (landside, arrivals level). Baggage is registered at the service desks but is promptly moved to/from a secure storage area in the CDG cargo zone. There are self serve lockers in Gare du Nord where you arrive from CDG by the RER suburban train.
Is there a secure place to temporarily store luggage in CDG ?
Unfortunately, no. Except “Salon Icare” (airside Terminal 1), fee access lounge (30 EUR).
Is there a lounge that I can use to relax for economy class ?
There is no sleeping facility in the international zone.
Is there a hotel or sleeping facility in the international zone ?
Terminals remain opened at night but no waiting area or sleeping facilities are offered.
Can I sleep in terminals ?
Transfer shuttles are running airside (custom bounded area), they are available for passengers travelling from an international flight to another, inside Terminal 2 or from/to Terminal 1 < > Terminal 2. CDGVAL is a light metro rail running in public area (landside) suitable for passengers needing to transfer to another terminal after they have exited security and baggage claim or passengers on their way to the RER/TGV/Thalys stations or parkers who need to get back to a vehicle parked at PR or PX.
“Transfer shuttles” or “CDGVAL”?
If you are transferring inside a same terminal, you can walk. If you are transferring beetwen two terminals you must board airport shuttles.
Can I walk between the terminals ?

CDG airport has internet kiosks and Wi-Fi connections in all terminals. WIFI cards are available from all Relay bookstores.
How frequent is CDGVAL ?
CDGVAL service runs 24/7 every 4 minutes. Night service between 1:30 and 4:30 every 20 minutes.
Is CDG Airport remains open at night ?
Charles de Gaulle Airport remains open 24/7.

Make inquiries at the "lost luggage" desk of the last airline you used. They will help you fill in the forms required to launch the search. The airline will ensure that the lost luggage reaches the destination of your choice, and will then contact you to arrange handing it back over to you.
How do I purchase a duty free product ?

You need to present your boarding card to the cashier. For some categories of products like spirits, tobacco, perfume…, there are often limits on how much you can purchase or bring into your country of destination.

Access to duty free prices depends on your final destination : • You are flying to a country outside of the European Union or to the French Overseas Territories: - Duty free prices apply to all products in the boutiques located in the bonded area. • You are flying to a country outside of the European Union or to the French Overseas Territories, but you have a stopover in Europe: - Duty free prices apply to all products in the boutiques located in the bonded area. The criteria that applies is your final destination: stopovers don't count. • You are traveling to a European Union country: - Duty free privileges do not apply. However, thanks to the efforts made by the various vendors, more than 7,000 products (perfume and cosmetics, fine food, wines and Champagnes…) can be purchased at prices equivalent to duty free prices. • You are in transit and Paris is only a stopover: If your final destination is an international one or a French Overseas Territory, you may shop duty free. You have the same rights as any passenger leaving Paris. If your final destination is within the European Union, you will still be able to find more than 7,000 products at prices equivalent to duty free prices.
What “airside” or “landside” means ?

The public access area (landside) designates all parts of the airport that are open to the public, generally before the security check points. The bounded area (airside) is for passengers only.
What happens in the unlikely event that my flight is cancelled ?
You may be compensated depending on the reason and duration of the delay. In the unlikely event that your flight is cancelled, airlines offer you compensation and assistance depending on the specific situation. Conditions on flights departing from non-EU countries differ per country/region. For more specific information on the conditions with regard to the compensation and assistance for flights departing from EU countries check your airline website.
What happens if I missed my connecting flight ?
You will be rebooked on next available flights. Go to your airline transfer desk.
Do I have to pick-up and re-check my baggage in Paris ?
In most cases (check with your airline), if you have a transfer to a flight leaving from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, your baggage is checked in all the way to your final destination.
I’m transiting in CDG with a lot of time, can I go to downtown Paris ?
If you have at least 4 hours (minimum) you can go and enjoy visiting Paris. You must have a visa if coming from an international flight.
Why different transfer routes possible at CDG ?
Flights are dispatching departing/arriving “Schengen” or “non-Schengen” destinations. That requires specific formalities and procedures.
For terminals 1 and 3 stop at “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1” station. For Terminal 2 and TGV station stop at “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV”.
Which RER station ?
Expect an average fare of 50-60€ during the day (7 AM to 7 PM) and 55-65€ at the night rate (7 PM to 7 AM and on Sundays and public holidays). For heavy luggage, an additional charge of 1€ per item is payable.
What is the cost for a taxi to/from Paris?
Aéroports de Paris does have a parking slot booking system “Parc Premium” available for Terminal 2 C/D and E/F only and for long-term car park “Parc vacances”. Booking from “aéroportsdeparis.fr” website.
